Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport (ATL) - Guide to Atlanta (ATL) Airport
Atlanta is encircled and bisected by major freeways, which means road connections are good within the city and to the surrounding areas.
However, Atlanta drivers have a bad reputation, so be extra careful on Atlanta roads. Fortunately, the city is well-served by an efficient and reliable public transportation system. The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) maintains a network of trains, buses and shuttles that connect all of the city's major areas with one another.
MARTA trains run every 10 to 15 minutes from 05:00 to 01:00 on weekdays and from 06:00 to 00:20 on weekends and holidays. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (HJAIA) is a one-terminal airport located just 10 miles out of the city. This is a full-service airport with the usual amenities you'd expect from the main airport of such a busy metropolitan area.
